This position is responsible for applying fundamental sales techniques while utilizing product, customer, company and industry knowledge applicable to improving customer consultation and sales.
This role will provide crop consulting and account management.
For this role to be successful, it is crucial the sales agronomist always facilitates collaborative communication and teamwork.
The Agronomist will primarily be focused on:
Contact and develop new sales leads.
Make sales calls and farm visits with current customers.
Develop and plan delivery schedules and sales to customers in a manner that will result in increased satisfaction.
Create and implement customer retention and development strategies.
Achieve profitability goals and increase market share through regular sales efforts.
Identify and attend appropriate training and continuing education seminars.
Develops better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improving crop yield, and solving problems for clients.
Research and promote agricultural strategies to counter the effects of changes in soil, climate, weather, and pest damage.
Visit fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples.
Test samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
Assist with the plant sourcing, testing, and selection.
Keep detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples.
Generate reports and presenting findings to management, clients, or other interested parties.
Conduct trainings on products and techniques through educational presentations.
Develop planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.
Prepares analysis and data presentation.
The preferred candidate for the Agronomist will have the following:
Excellent, effective communication skills including oral, written and presentation form.
Ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
Good independent, ethical, decision-making ability.
Excellent organizational skills including detail oriented, multi-tasking, planning, and prioritizing.
In-depth knowledge of soil and crop principles.
Strong customer service skills.
Able to learn company systems and processes.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$60,000.
00 - $90,000.
