Responsibilities:
Aid in leading and managing the overall operation of the feedyard to ensure that all team members and consultants are focused on achieving company goals and producing a quality product Ensure that feedyard activities are carried out effectively through personal observations and formal and informal meetings with management and line employees Develop the capability of the team to ensure progressively greater contribution toward the achievement of company goals Work with the feedyard team to continuously improve feedyard processes and operations Set a positive example for employees by modeling safe work practices and following safety rules and policies.
Communicates critical safety information to employees by conducting regular safety training Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (e.
g.
OSHA, EPA) and company policies (e.
g.
BQA, Animal Handling and Welfare, safety) Purchase feed commodities for location and ensure inventory levels are appropriate Work with corporate feeder cattle procurement team to determine feeder cattle needs; ensure cattle are properly cared for upon arrival Work with corporate fed cattle procurement team to ensure cattle are of excellent quality and delivered to the plant as specified Represent the company in a professional manner at community and industry events Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Economics, Animal Science or related field Three years of experience in feedyard operations, or related field Supervisory experience Recommended Skills Commodity Market Communication Coordinating Economy Procurement Management Safety Training Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
